Diarmuid? Apologies if this is inappropriate, but you've been a friend and I felt I should tell you that I'm no longer in the same residence. I've moved to Building Four, and you're welcome there if you want to visit. You can meet my crew as well.
[It takes Diarmuid a little bit to figure out how to work this new bit of technology, but once he has he is so happy he can't stop giggling. He's getting better at this. He is!
Once he calms down, he finally returns the message.]
Your crew is here now? Yay! I want to meet them!
Thank you for telling me. It's not in-o-prop-re-ate at all! When can I come visit?
[There is some shuffling around as Diarmuid figures out how to end the recording and then finally a click.]
[Krok can't help it; it's a good time and Diarmuid's cheer is infectious. He laughs even after he's listened to the message twice and started a reply.]
Yes, most of them are here now. I think we need a day or two to settle in, but I'll be sure to let you know when it's all right.
[Message left 01 October. Krok sounds very different from his last message; his voice is rough and weary, though he sounds more apologetic than miserable.]
I'm sorry your visit was delayed so long. Things have been… troublesome. I won't be out and about much for a while, I think, so if you like, come over any time.
If Diarmuid checks his letterbox, he will find a small package wrapped in colorful glittery wrapping paper. There is a tag attached with "Happy Holidays, Diarmuid! From, Pilouette" written on it in cutesy handwriting.
Inside are a pair of small disposable cameras with instructions on how they work, along with a cutesy beginner's cookbook containing lots of simple recipes.
A couple of days later a small box will be left in Pilouette's mail. It has a note written in large, childish handwriting on top. It might take a few moments to read, but once she figures it out, this is what it says:
Thank you! Thank you! There are cameras! And a cook book! These aren't much, but look! I got them right! They are right!
Diarmuid
The box holds a dozen chocolate chip cookies very proudly made by his own hands from start to finish.
[In a blue-violet envelope sealed with a purple wax (which Diarmuid will find having been slid under his door), he will find a note.]
It has been a some time since we last spoke, Diarmuid. I hope this letter finds you well.
Things have been both quiet and rather busy outside the walls. Most of the scouts who have ventured inside have reported much of the same, save for what occurred at the end of the year cycle. No doubt due to the scientists getting hold of one of our own.
Enclosed is a copy of the data we have retrieved of the city's underground tunnels. Be careful when sharing this, for I feel there are more secrets left to be uncovered of these depths.
[Diarmuid is very surprised when he finds the letter. He whispers Zeloph's name under his breath and then runs to the couch to sit and open it. It takes him a short time to read though the whole thing and understand it, then he looks at the map. Immediately, he notices the arrangement of the tunnels. It looks like a rune! Actually a series of them! What does it mean?
And why does it make him shiver?
He folds the map and the letter together, puts them into his bag, and then gathers his stuff to go outside. He needs to find someone to talk to about this. Lord James, or Steve, or Yu, or Kit! Someone...]

[Diarmuid is still grinning as he answers. Nothing makes him happier than when his friends are happy.]
Let me know when you are settled and I will come. I will even find you a housewarming present!
[What, he doesn't know, but he will find something!]

[Diarmuid has been so worried about him. It's all he can do keep himself from running straight to Krok's apartment.]
I've missed you! I am going to come over right now!
[Okay, message left. Now he is going to run straight over to Krok's...]
